Job Description

NiteLines USA is currently looking for a PRN Radiology Tech to join the team! The prospective employee will provide RT services as delineated below for the inmate population at the Federal Correctional Institution Waseca in Waseca MN.

LOCATION:

Federal Correctional Institution Waseca 1000 University Drive SW Waseca MN

PAY:

  • Pay Rate: $41.14/hr

SCHEDULE:

  • Monday Friday between 7:30 AM and 4:00 PM normally wont exceed sixteen 16 hours per month estimated 192 hours per year.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Shall be fully licensed/certified to perform radiological procedures by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT).
  • Must have at least one or more years of experience.
  • Must be CardioPulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certified in accordance with the American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
  • Failure to submit evidentiary documentation of certifications licenses qualifications may result in elimination from consideration.

JOB DUTIES:

  • The services to be provided are professional in nature and will be commensurate with Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care (AAAHC) standards of care.
  • The methods utilized will meet medical practices established in the local community.
  • Perform routine radiologic procedures ordered by the medical staff for adults in custody population at the institution with minimal technical assistance.
  • Transmit retrieve Xray images and reports electronically and scan reports into Bureau Electronic Medical Record (BEMR).
  • Receive training to retrieve radiographic consults from BEMR and schedule them to perform all radiographic procedures.
  • Work with adults in custody population from a variety of cultural racial religious and ethnic backgrounds.
  • Shall be capable of performing any and all radiology procedures needed without any technical support.
  • Evaluate radiographic equipment for calibrations and repairs.
  • Possess knowledge of basic emergency situations that may occur during special radiographic procedures.
  • Schedule exams and maintain records.
  • Possess knowledge of various pathological abnormalities as demonstrated by radiographic imaging.
  • Independently assess and select technical exposure factors and positions necessary to obtain a proper quality diagnostic exam. Receive patients and explain procedures to alleviate undue anxiety.
  • Independently perform all radiographic procedures i.e. chest bone skull spine and portable xrays etc.
  • Notify Radiologist or referring Physician of any preliminary abnormalities seen while patient is undergoing an exam so that additional views or exams can be ordered if needed.
  • Coordinate transfer of patient radiologic records to ensure continuity of care.
  • Work with Clinical Director to ensure monitoring and evaluation activities are completed.
  • Act as liaison between radiologist and medical staff.
  • Receive training and orientation and comply with correctional techniques as they pertain to medical services.
  • Develop a working knowledge of the local medical protocols.
  • Wear outer protective clothing and obey Center for Disease Control universal precautions all times.
  • Function in other duties commensurate of a Radiology Technician.
  • Computerization and printing of daily log.
  • Computerization and printing of exam requisitions.
  • Printing of all folder and exam labels.
  • Completing all xray studies ordered by the medical staff.
  • Preparing xrays for shipment to the radiologist for interpretation.
  • Transport of xrays to radiologist for interpretation.
  • Transport all xrays from radiologist after interpretation.
  • Assisting the staff with maintenance of equipment and supplies and notifying staff when supplies are needed.
  • Conducting quality assurance tests and daily maintenance on xray equipment as needed.
  • Assisting with FDA inspections and preparation for TJC and program review as needed.
  • Assuring that all xray requests are completed properly.
  • Computerization of patient logs and repeat analysis.
  • Will be responsible for receiving patients and explaining procedures to alleviate undue anxiety submitting reports and evaluations as requested.
