Do you have a passion for culinary arts Do you enjoy catering and being of service to others The Division of Parks and Recreation is seeking a dynamicFood Services Supervisor IIfor our Haw River State Park kitchen. The Food Services Supervisor II is responsible for prepping food for our visitors while taking special care of dietary requests hiring and training kitchen staff members and ensuring kitchen and dining areas meet health codes and sanitation requirements.
Key Responsibilities include but are not limited to:- Work with other staff park staff to ensure groups receive the best service and the kitchen operates at peak performance.
- Assist with the hiring training and supervising of all kitchen staff.
- Identify and introduce new culinary techniques to teach new and existing staff.
- Analyze and monitor food management operations and to evaluate needs and improvements.
- Apply knowledge of dietary requirements for a variety of special diets and allowable substitutions for various items found on diet menus.
- Delegate responsibility and to plan organize and direct the work of several skilled and unskilled food service workers.
- Maintain extremely high level of cleanliness and safety in kitchen and dining facilities in accordance with health code standards.
- Typical work schedule is Monday to Friday 8am to 5:30pm; some weekend and holiday work required.
- Must have or be able to stand for prolonged periods of time with or without reasonable accommodation.
- Must be able to frequently lift up to 50lbs with or without reasonable accommodation.
- Must have or be able to obtain and maintain a ServSafe certification within 90 daysof employment.
- Must have or be able to obtain and maintain a valid NC drivers license within 90 daysof employment.
Knowledge Skills and Abilities / Competencies

- Demonstrated experience managing and directing food service employees.
- Demonstrated experience with food preparation.
- Demonstrated experience with menu management.
Management Prefers:- Supervisory experience in a highvolume food service establishment including planning forecasting ordering and budgeting
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements

Veterans and National Guard Preference
