SUMMARY: Implement new processes and identify opportunities for improvement within current processes to drive continuous improvement in production reducing cost optimizing cycle time and increasing yield. Fix issues that come up throughout the production floor to keep lines running efficiently and effectively ensuring we meet customer delivery schedules with deliver high quality products.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Use technical skills and tools as well as hands on analysis to perform in depth analysis determine root cause and identify corrective actions needed to solve manufacturing issues
- Maintain and modify functional test equipment programs and procedures for testing and improving the efficiency of testing on new and updated products
- Work with engineering to ensure testers are updated and ready for new product updates to ensure we meet our engineering release schedule
- Facilitate and assist with process machine and fixture improvements utilizing automation and manufacturing best practices.
- Drive continuous improvement by identifying opportunities for improving quality cost reductions programmatic savings improving cycle times (including the introduction of automation) and yield improvement while prioritizing safety
- Work with crossfunctional onboarding group to establish special processes to support custom SKUs
- Participate in design reviews and collaborate with engineering to update designs for manufacturability allowing for efficient and errorfree manufacturing with well documented manufacturing processes and procedures
- Design and update test scripts and complete validation documentation
- Work with maintenance to coordinate the maintenance repair and updates of existing production equipment
- Order and make changes to stencils and solder pallets as needed
- Sustain and improve the daytoday manufacturing work centers to increase efficiency and drive quality in our production processes
- Perform process development / process validation in support of key projects
- Develop characterize and validate new & existing process technologies and equipment
- Communicate the status of projects to appropriate individuals throughout the company
- Performs other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelors degree (B.S. in engineering or related area of study
- 35 years of experience in electronics manufacturing environment
- Demonstrated ability to identify and implement opportunities for improvement
- Knowledge of LEAN and Six Sigma tools
- Familiar with Python scripting teraterm scripting C# LabVIEW and json files
- Ability to work well in a cross functional team
- Strong analytical skills problem solving and decisionmaking skills
- Strong written verbal and interpersonal communication skills
- Ability to work independently and in teams
- Fixtures/tooling knowledge
- Proficient in Excel Project PowerPoint SharePoint Teams Word and Visio.
- Familiar with the MRP & ERP process
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- Lifting requirements up to 25 pounds.
- Requires sitting for periods of time and occasional standing.
- Use hands to finger handle or feel.
- Reaching required.
- Requires close vision and ability to adjust focus.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
- Working conditions are normal for an office environment. Minimal noise.
- Our Minnesota facility includes a manufacturing environment. Moderate noise level. Machinery operation requires the use of safety equipment to include but not limited to; safety glasses hearing protection wrist and shoe straps and ESD smock. Loose fitting clothing and jewelry are not permitted. No food allowed in the manufacturing area. No cell phone use allowed in manufacturing area unless approved by management.
