CAD Technician Shaw Sports TurfPosition Overview
Due to our continued growth and development plan Shaw Sports Turf is looking for a highly motivated detailoriented CAD Project Engineer who can work in a fastpaced environment.
The CAD Engineer is responsible for creating 2D renderings and shop drawings for sport fields at all levels of competition including Professional College High School Parks & Rec etc. The position requires collaboration and communication with other key departments and stakeholders (Operations Sales Distributor Partners Manufacturing and Customer Service). Working with a sense of urgency and high level of communication is necessary to deliver projects on time all while providing worldclass customer experience. The CAD Engineer must be selfmotivated take initiative and work as part of a high performing team in a fastpaced and highvolume environment with an emphasis on accuracy and timeliness.
Essential Responsibilities:
Create conceptual renderings for sales team presentations distributors and other key stakeholders to demonstrate design capabilities.
Prepare and submit detailed shop drawings for approval by the client.
Create Tufting Instructions from approved shop drawings and submit to manufacturing.
Perform quantity takeoffs to calculate the amount of turf required for a project.
Learn and understand all components of turf products.
Review necessary plans specifications and project scope of work to ensure the project design is accurate.
Possess or develop a deep understanding of various sports field layouts dimensions and rules.
Communicate any changes or discrepancies in the field design compared to the project budget.
Other Skills and Abilities:
Demonstrate AutoCAD experience including Graphic Design
Be selfmotivated while working as part of a team
Ability to handle multiple projects and tasks in a fastpaced environment
Ability to interpret blueprints
Excellent communication skills: verbal and written
Requirements:
Associates Degree or equivalent work experience
AutoCAD experience
