Job Description

Homebridge believes that quality care comes from skilled and supported caregivers. As Californias largest employertrainer of caregivers and the States largest IHSS agency provider Homebridge operates multiple programs that benefit caregivers and their clients across the State.

In San Francisco Homebridge provides nearly 1/2 million hours of inhome care to more than 1000 complexlydiagnosed IHSS MediCAL beneficiaries each year with a staff of more than 300 caregivers.

Position Summary

The Senior Human Resources Generalist plays a pivotal role in implementing HR strategies policies and programs to support business objectives and foster a positive work environment. This role covers a broad spectrum of HR functions including employee relations compliance talent acquisition benefits administration performance management and process improvement ensuring alignment with federal state and local labor laws.

The Senior HR Generalist provides dedicated support to Service Delivery Managers Home Care Provider Supervisors and Home Care Providers (unionized workforce) managing daytoday HR activities such as new hire orientations employee relations benefits administration initial Workers Compensation documentation leave of absence management terminations and training support.

Essential Job Functions

  • Oversee employee relations compensation benefits Workers Compensation leave of absence management and compliance with employment laws.
  • Interpret and enforce Employee Handbooks and Collective Bargaining Agreements advising managers and employees on policies and procedures.
  • Investigate and address employee concerns including disciplinary actions harassment claims and workplace disputes collaborating with the union as necessary.
  • Ensure compliance with employment laws such as FMLA ADA EEO FLSA and other labor regulations.
  • Develop and implement HR policies and procedures to promote consistency and legal compliance.
  • Lead the fullcycle recruitment process including sourcing interviewing and offer negotiations.
  • Track and analyze recruitment metrics identifying opportunities for process enhancements.
  • Support an efficient onboarding experience for new hires.
  • Manage termination processes including final paychecks COBRA administration HRIS updates and exit interviews.
  • Guide managers on performance improvement plans coaching and employee development initiatives.
  • Support leadership development and career progression programs.
  • Assist in succession planning and building talent pipelines for key roles.
  • Conduct salary benchmarking pay equity analysis and compensation planning to ensure competitive and fair pay practices.
  • Oversee employee benefits administration including open enrollment and new hire enrollments.
  • Partner with finance and payroll to ensure accurate and timely processing of compensation and benefits.
  • Maintain HRIS systems ensuring data integrity and generating reports on key HR metrics.
  • Analyze HR data to identify workforce trends and provide actionable insights.
  • Ensure compliance with document retention policies and maintain personnel records.
  • Identify opportunities for process automation and efficiency improvements.
  • Lead or support HR projects including employee engagement initiatives and HR technology implementations.
  • Stay updated on HR trends and best practices to drive continuous improvement.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Bachelors degree in human resources Business Administration or a related field.
  • 5 years of HR experience with at least 2 years in a senior or lead HR role.
  • HR certification (PHR SPHR SHRMCP or SHRMSCP) preferred.
  • Experience working with diverse employee populations including varying ages and cultural backgrounds.
  • Strong knowledge of employment laws and HR best practices (COBRA ERISA FMLA EEO ADA Workers Compensation etc..
  • Proven expertise in employee relations HR compliance and workplace investigations.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive matters with discretion.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel Word PowerPoint) and HRIS systems.
  • Strong interpersonal verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a fastpaced environment manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Adaptability and commitment to continuous learning and professional development.

Work Environment & Physical Demands

San Francisco Pay Range
$85000$95000 USD
