In your future role at Illumina you will work within a dynamic environment and play a key role towards ensuring accessibility of the next generation of tools intended to improve human health. As a member of the Manufacturing Technical Transfer and Technical Operations team you will partner with colleagues within Process Development Manufacturing Quality Control Quality Assurance and Supply Chain to steer manufacturing process development / transfer identify and implement novel manufacturing technologies and drive root cause investigations to ensure supply continuity.

Responsibilities:

  • Review new and existing manufacturing processes and influence as necessary to ensure effectiveness scalability and reproducibility.

  • Drive Quality Investigations utilizing established tools and sound experimental design to identify root cause contributions to nonconformities and quality events and utilize the CAPA process to implement rightsized solutions.

  • Monitor and review manufacturing metrics (e.g. first pass yield yield variability nonconformance trending unit costs turns per year etc. to proactively identify opportunities to improve process robustness or operational capacity.

  • Accountable for the of design and successful implementation of proposed manufacturing processes.

  • Identify continuous improvement and cost optimization projects draft a plan to assess any business impact or assess risk to product/process and drive the opportunity to successful implementation.

Experience / Knowledge Requirements:

  • 35 years of Manufacturing / Operations experience preferred.

  • Demonstrated success navigating within and influencing diverse crossfunctional teams.

  • Able to persuade others in sensitive complex situations while preserving relationships.

  • Exceptional communication skills both written and verbal.

Preferred Educational Background:

  • Bachelors Masters or Ph.D. in Biology Chemistry or related discipline.

The estimated base salary range for the Biochemistry Scientist Manufacturing Sciences and Engineering role based in the United States of America is: $68100 $102100. Should the level or location of the role change during the hiring process the applicable base pay range may be updated accordingly. Compensation decisions are dependent on several factors including but not limited to an individuals qualifications location where the role is to be performed internal equity and alignment with market data. Additionally all employees are eligible for one of our variable cash programs (bonus or commission) and eligible roles may receive equity as part of the compensation package.
