The Department of Rehabilitation Therapies at the University of Iowa Health Care is looking for a parttime Senior Physical Therapist to administer treatment to patients with complex physical dysfunctions disorders and/or injuries and evaluate and interpret findings. This position will primarily be assigned to the adult inpatient acute care setting.
- Provide quality patient care evaluation assessment and treatment appropriate for patients needs. Assignment will primarily be to adult inpatient acute care setting
- Evaluate and instruct patients in home treatment programs
- Perform routine and assigned administrative tasks in an efficient manner
- Participate in divisional quality/process improvement activities and recommend opportunities for improvement in service quality
- Attend and participate in educational programs and provide educational experiences as assigned
- Maintain effective working relationships with faculty staff students and the public
- Performs special projects and tasks as assigned
- Positive Impact/Achieving Results: Ability to utilize existing resources and learning to achieve or exceed desired outcomes of current and future organizational goals/needs. Able to demonstrate ethical behavior in diverse situations while producing results

Required Qualifications:
- A minimum of a Bachelors degree in Physical Therapy or a Bachelors degree in another field and a Physical Therapy Certificate is required
- 2 years of experience as a Physical Therapist in an acute care hospital setting is required with a high degree of understanding and skill in one or more areas of assigned responsibility
- Demonstrated clinical education abilities and leadership is required
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required
Licenses/Certifications:
- Licensure in accordance with the Iowa Board of Physical and Occupational Therapy is required
Desirable Qualifications:
- 3 years of experience as a Physical Therapist
- 3 years of experience in one or more of the following patient care specialties in acute care setting including ICU cardiology burn orthopedics
- Demonstrates leadership abilities
- Demonstrates experience as part of a multidisciplinary medical team
- Job related experience with and/or commitment to service excellence
