Job Description
We are looking for a highly skilled and selfdriven Database Migration Engineer (MS SQL Server) with extensive experience in largescale cloud migrations to AWS. You will be a key player in transforming legacy systems by migrating missioncritical databases to RDS and EC2 environments. Key Responsibilities:
Lead and execute largescale SQL Server database migrations from onprem to AWS RDS and EC2 environments.
Develop enhance and follow structured migration runbooks to ensure seamless transitions.
Write and optimize TSQL scripts for data transformation performance tuning and validation.
Perform premigration assessments data mapping backup/restore strategies and postmigration verification.
Ensure data integrity uptime and security during and after migration in regulated/production environments.
Proactively identify and resolve performance reliability and compatibility issues during migrations.
Collaborate with crossfunctional teams including application developers cloud engineers and security to align on delivery timelines and migration best practices.
Provide clear documentation for all migration activities tooling and processes.
Operate independently with autonomy and accountability for successful delivery.
Requirements
5 years handson experience with Microsoft SQL Server 2012
Proven experience with largescale SQL Server migrations to AWS (RDS and EC2.
Deep understanding of cloud data platforms especially AWS Database Services.
Proficient in writing complex TSQL queries stored procedures and data migration scripts.
Understanding of security best practices in data handling and migration.
Experience working in regulated and missioncritical environments.
Excellent problemsolving skills with a methodical and analytical mindset.
Ability to work independently and lead migration projects endtoend.
