Other conditions: General funds 9month tenuretrack to begin approximately August 2025 pending availability of funds and actual staffing requirements. May be for Leeward CC day evening or weekend offerings on and offcampus such as Leeward CC Waianae Moku and local high schools (pending background clearance) grant locations or other satellite campuses.


Duties and Responsibilities

  • Under general supervision develop curriculum for and teach a range of courses in the visual arts that include but are not limited to: printmaking (relief intaglio screen printing lithography) drawing 2D design art history and theory.
  • Maintenance and oversight of the printmaking/screen printing Studio. This will include but is not limited to: upkeep and supervision of the corresponding equipment supplies and tools developing studio protocols and procedures establishing proper safety and disposal methods for any and all waste materials involved.
  • Prepare and revise course objectives and student learning outcomes.
  • Identify student learning needs and develop appropriate teaching strategies instructional material and methods.
  • Plan organize and deliver instructional and noninstructional assignments.
  • Assist the Gallery Coordinator with work and programming related to the Hoikeakea Gallery including but not limited to: installation deinstallation receptions artist talks student visits and other special events that may utilize the gallery space.
  • Perform related work as assigned.
  • Additional work activities include but are not limited to: advising and counseling students assisting in campusrelated student activities developing and maintaining a professional selfimprovement plan participating in faculty/administrative committees community service and inservice training as appropriate collecting data and preparing reports. Conduct course assessment and other assessment of instruction based on student learning outcomes and improve student learning based on results of assessment data.
  • May include instructional assignments involving Early College and distance education which may involve online instruction.
  • Other Duties as Assigned

Minimum Qualifications

  1. Masters in Art or Fine Art OR Master recognition by Applied Arts Community and 10 years of related experience. Related experiences must be with a concentration in printmaking/screen printing.

Minimum qualifications must be met by the effective date of appointment.


Desirable Qualifications

  1. College teaching experience in drawing printmaking and screen printing.
  2. Experience with digital mediums and processes.
  3. General knowledge of purchasing art supplies tools and equipment.
  4. Experience in organizing managing and maintaining a drawing and printing studio.
  5. General knowledge of maintenance and repair of the various printing/screen printing tools and equipment.
  6. Basic computer skills (e.g. word processing email) search engines and use of other artrelated software.
  7. Demonstrated ability to work collegiately with peers.
  8. Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively orally and written.
  9. Understanding of and experience working with a diverse student populationadult students students with disability students with a wide range of abilities and students from a variety of cultural and economic backgrounds.
  10. Experience with coordinating and installing art gallery exhibitions and receptions.
