Job Description

Amazons Inventory Genealogy team is seeking a highly skilled Software Development Engineer (SDE2 to lead our Genealogy platform development. This critical role will shape the future of our inventory Genealogy and defect detection systems focusing on root cause analysis and processlevel insights. As the lead architect youll finalize our highvolume data storage infrastructure and develop advanced analytics solutions handling approximately 1 billion daily inventory events. Your responsibilities will include building and optimizing a sophisticated knowledge graph to track inventory throughout Amazons fulfillment network designing scalable storage solutions and developing highperformance APIs. Youll also spearhead the creation of analytics tools for defect identification ensuring data security and compliance throughout. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work at the forefront of big data technology directly impacting Amazons inventory management efficiency and accuracy. The ideal candidate will bring extensive experience in big data technologies cloud computing and database management along with strong leadership and problemsolving skills to drive innovation in this complex and dynamic field.

Key job responsibilities
As an SDE you will be responsible for designing developing testing and deploying scalable solution. You will collaborate closely with a team of engineers to influence our overall strategy and define the teams roadmap. You will also help drive the system architecture spearhead best practices that enable a quality product and help coach and develop junior engineers. A successful candidate will have an established background in Big data analytics and infrastructure to store TBs of data/events per day.

About the team
Amazon Fulfillment Technologies (AFT) powers Amazons global fulfillment network. We invent and deliver software hardware and data science solutions that orchestrate processes robots machines and people. Inventory
AFTs Inventory team delivers complex innovative scalable solutions to manage the endtoend lifecycle of all physical goods across the Amazon fulfillment network ensuring both inventory record accuracy and safe inventory handling for billions of items.

3 years of noninternship professional software development experience
2 years of noninternship design or architecture (design patterns reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
Experience programming with at least one software programming language

3 years of full software development life cycle including coding standards code reviews source control management build processes testing and operations experience
Bachelors degree in computer science or equivalent

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $129300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $223600/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on jobrelated knowledge skills and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered equity signon payments and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package in addition to a full range of medical financial and/or other benefits.
