The Cath Lab team provides emergency percutaneous coronary intervention procedures for those experiencing heart attacks or angioplasty on an elective basis for those with cardiovascular symptoms. Performing these interventions locally eliminates treatment delays and allows patients to be treated closer to home.
What is Interventional Radiology
Interventional Radiology (IR) is a medical specialty in which imaging guidance is used to provide minimally invasive treatments to a wide range of vascular and nonvascular conditions. Interventional radiologists use various imaging techniques (xrays fluoroscopyultrasoundCT andMRI to manipulate precise tools within the body usually through a tiny needle puncture. These minimally invasive nonsurgical techniques are at the forefront of medicine and are helping improve outcomes for patients with potentially lifethreatening conditions.
Scope of work
The Clinical Nurse Manager is an experienced leader responsible for managing assigned areas and services and supervising assigned patient care staff to promote the creation of a center of excellence for staff recruitment and retention and clinical and business outcomes. The Nurse Manager is responsible to ensure safe and effective delivery of patient care and clinical outcomes compliance with regulatory administrative and clinical standards and policies and procedures. The Nurse Manager serves as a chief retention and safety officer. He/she ensures that safety and quality standards are upheld by effective use of data and technology to make decisions and proactively mitigates unnecessary risks for his/her area of responsibility. The Nurse Manager creates and ensures a desirable safe work environment that enables the organization to meet or exceed its mission and goals. He/she models the way to foster communication and collaboration with physicians staff patients and other departments. Role specific competencies responsibilities roles and functions are based on the Professional Practice Model. This position reports to the Director of Nursing or above.
AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY:
Under general direction maintains 24hour responsibility and accountability for providing leadership and management of a designated patient care unit which promotes quality nursing care cost effective use of resources and professional growth for nursing staff. Promotes a Patient Family Centered Care Culture.
