Job Description
The Section of Pediatric Pulmonary Medicine at Wake Forest University School of Medicine and Atrium Health Levine Childrens Brenner Childrens Hospital seeks candidates for a fulltime faculty position in Pediatric Pulmonology. Additional board certification in Sleep Medicine appreciated but not required. Candidates should be board certified in Pediatrics and board certified or board eligible in Pediatric rank will be commensurate with experience.
The section of Pediatric Pulmonology at Levine Childrens Brenner Childrens Hospital sees a diverse population with high acuity including patients with:
- BPD
- chronic ventilation or noninvasive ventilation needs
- neuromuscular respiratory weakness
- asthma
- cystic fibrosis
- aerodigestive disorders
- pulmonary hypoplasia/chest wall deformities
- sleep disorders
- interstitial lung disease
- sickle cell lung disease
Pediatric Pulmonary Section & services provided:
- Our team includes: 1 sleep physician 5 pediatric pulmonologists including a dedicated CF physician 2 inpatient/outpatient APPs
- We are an accredited CF center and a member of the TDN with a fully staffed CF team (providers nurse coordinator psychologist RT social worker dietician and pharmacist).
- We run multidisciplinary clinics for patients with CF ventilatordependence neuromuscular diseases aerodigestive disorders Sickle Cell Disease and Pediatric Sleep.
- We perform both inpatient and outpatient bronchoscopy withoncall bronchoscopy technicians (RTs) and have full lung function testing capabilities.
- We work in a multidisciplinary fashion with our adult pulmonary colleagues Pediatric ENT section the NICU PICU our pediatric surgeons and pediatric subspecialists.
- Pediatric Pulmonology has satellite clinics located in Clemmons and Hickory NC.
