As a robotics engineer the candidate will design and deploy an automated disassembly system leveraging Kassow collaborative robots (cobots) and CtrX control platforms. This role focuses on developing sustainable solutions for recycling and remanufacturing integrating AIdriven automation with industrial robotics to optimize precision safety and efficiency in disassembly workflows. As an Intern Robotics Engineer for Automated Disassembly you will support the following key tasks in collaboration with experience team members.
- Program and configure Kassow 7axis cobots for disassembly tasks (e.g. EV battery recycling) using ROS C and CtrX automation frameworks.
- Integrate vision models for selfadaptive disassembly strategies and multimodal sensor data (vision force/torque) for adaptive task .
- Optimize robotic handeye coordination using visionlanguage models (e.g. CLIP) and retrievalaugmented generation (RAG) for task prioritization.
- Validate system performance through simulation (Gazebo MoveIt) and realworld testing.
- Project updates presentation support demonstrations for project stakeholders
Qualifications :
- Able to work full time for a period of 6 months 01.04.2025 to 31.10.2025
- Undergraduate/graduate studies in Mechanical engineering Electrical engineering Mechatronics Robotics or Computer science.
- Proficiency in C Python ROS2
- Handson experience with Cobots
- Familiarity with AI/ML frameworks (PyTorch TensorFlow) and vision systems (YOLO SegmentAnything)
- Selfmotivated able to work independently and great problemsolving skills.
- Effective communication and presentation skills.
