Raytheon is hiring a Principal Java Software Engineer to support our teams in Richardson Texas. You will have the opportunity to directly impact the world around you and contribute to classified programs and technologies you are passionate about. In this role you will use your solid foundation in Java and experience working in a Linux environment to comprehend customer needs and translate those needs into viable design solutions.

What You Will Do

• Opportunity to use your understanding of software principles theories and concepts related to software engineering (including software development lifecycle and software development process) design patterns and Object Oriented architecture.
• Design build and maintain efficient reusable and reliable code
• Demonstrate your critical thinking skills with the ability to communicate concepts and ideas well while supporting other program developers and stakeholders.
• Obtain and maintain SCI program access and complete polygraphs.

Qualifications You Must Have

• Typically requires a degree in Science Technology Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 8 years of Software Engineering experience.
• Software development experience using Java.
• Experience with Agile or DevSecOps toolsets (e.g. Jira Confluence BitBucket Jenkins Cucumber etc..
• Experience with AWS Cloud Technologies.
• An active and transferable Top Secret security clearance that can be crossed over to a TS/SCI security clearance prior to start date is required. U.S. citizenship is required as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

Qualifications We Prefer

• Experience with containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.
• Experience with Agile development methodologies.
• Experience with DevSecOps and Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery.
• Experience with building automated tests.

The salary range for this role is 101000 USD 203000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer including but not limited to the role function and associated responsibilities a candidates work experience location education/training and key skills.
