Job Description
DMOS is seeking a Medical or PrePA student in their gap year who may be interested in working in a clinic to gain experience to real world patient care. This position will provide support to one of our Hand & Upper Extremity providers and gaining knowledge while either attending or planning to attend medical or PA school. This is a parttime opportunity is located at our West Des Moines office and is scheduled Monday and Wednesday 7:30AM5:00PM and Friday 7:30AM12PM (or until the last patient leaves).
Heres What You Can Expect
- This is a private practice where youll have access to ask questions of the care team to gain knowledge of a career in orthopaedic medicine.
- Being on your on your feet when greeting and preparing patients for their appointment with the physician.
- Acting as the patients kind guide and reliable helper during their appointment.
- Reaching stooping and walking while assisting patients with their care during appointments
- A small closeknit team of professionals you can rely on to provide patient care we are proud of.
What Were Looking For
- Education. Graduates of an undergraduate program in premedicine and/or seeking continuing education in a medical related field
- Calm. Ability to communicate calmly and provide reassurance when patients are nervous.
- Curiosity. You practice the art of listening asking clarifying questions and avoiding interrupting your patient.
