Senior Business Systems Analyst

About the Role

We are seeking a Senior Business Analyst Software to bridge the gap between product strategy and technical . This individual will work closely with Product Managers Engineering Teams and Clinical Stakeholders to translate complex business needs into clear structured and actionable technical requirements. The role will also offer opportunities to work on AIdriven insights and advanced analytics.

A strong analytical mindset is crucial for this rolethis person should be able to dive deep into data identify patterns uncover insights and find the needle in the haystack to drive decisionmaking and optimize solutions.

Key Responsibilities

Requirement Analysis & Technical Translation

• Collaborate with Product Managers Engineers and Clinical Experts to understand business needs and convert product requirements into detailed technical specifications.
• Document user stories workflows data models and system requirements ensuring clarity and completeness for engineering teams.
• Work closely with developers to ensure requirements are technically feasible scalable and aligned with Guardant Healths broader digital and data strategy.

DataDriven Insights & Problem Solving

• Analyze large datasets to identify trends anomalies and key insights that impact product development and clinical decisionmaking.
• Utilize SQL dashboards and data analytics tools (like Tableau) to find patterns and drive databacked product improvements.
• Work crossfunctionally to validate hypotheses ensuring solutions align with business needs and compliance requirements.

CrossFunctional Collaboration & Agile

• Act as a liaison between business and engineering teams ensuring alignment on priorities feasibility and implementation timelines.
• Support Agile development processes including backlog refinement sprint planning and defining acceptance criteria.
• Ensure clear documentation and communication across teams reducing ambiguity and increasing development efficiency.

System & Process Optimization

• Identify gaps in current systems and propose process improvements to enhance operational efficiency.
• Work on EMR integrations (Epic OncoEMR hospital networks) and LIMS (LabVantage preferred) to ensure seamless data flow between healthcare platforms.
• Help define test cases validate functionality and ensure alignment with regulatory and compliance standards (HIPAA CAP/CLIA FDA).

Qualifications :

Required Qualifications

• 5 years of experience as a Business Analyst Technical Product Manager or similar role in a software or healthcare tech environment.
• Strong analytical and problemsolving skills with a datadriven mindset to identify trends insights and inconsistencies.
• Experience translating highlevel product goals into structured technical requirements.
• Handson experience with SQL and data analysis tools to support investigative deep dives.
• Familiarity with APIs cloudbased architectures (AWS preferred) and software development best practices.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to interact with both technical and nontechnical stakeholders.
• Experience in Agile/Scrum environments writing user stories and working with engineering teams.

Nice to Have

• Experience in Life Sciences Healthcare or HealthTech industries.
• Familiarity with EMR/EHR integrations (Epic OncoEMR HL7 FHIR).
• Understanding of LIMS systems (LabVantage preferred).
• Knowledge of regulatory frameworks such as HIPAA CAP/CLIA or FDA compliance.

Additional Information :

Hybrid Work Model: At Guardant Health we have defined days for inperson/onsite collaboration and workfromhome days for individualfocused time. All U.S. employees who live within 50 miles of a Guardant facility will be required to be onsite on Mondays Tuesdays and Thursdays. We have found aligning our scheduled inoffice days allows our teams to do the best work and creates the focused thinking time our innovative work requires. At Guardant our work model has created flexibility for better worklife balance while keeping teams connected to advance our science for our patients.

For positions based in Palo Alto CA or Redwood City CA the base salary range for this fulltime position is $109900 to $148410. The range does not include benefits and if applicable bonus commission or equity.

Within the range individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors including but not limited to jobrelated skills experience and relevant education or training. If you are selected to move forward the recruiting team will provide details specific to the factors above.

Employee may be required to lift routine office supplies and use office equipment. Majority of the work is performed in a desk/office environment; however there may be exposure to high noise levels fumes and biohazard material in the laboratory environment. Ability to sit for extended periods of time.
