Reporting to the Director Procurement the Sustainable Procurement Lead working in partnership with a colead is a change agent for City Council the Executive Leadership Team (ELT) and the Corporate Procurement and Supply Services (CPSS) leadership team. This role is responsible for managing all phases of the processes and systems that support the implementation of the Citys Sustainable Procurement Policy C556C. The Sustainable Procurement Lead provides governance and corporate oversight directing internal CPSS staff and citywide branches.
What will you do
- Lead development and implementation of the Citys Sustainable Procurement Policies
- Develop strategic sustainability plans integrated with organizational goals and regulatory compliance
- Drive program enhancement through the and operationalization of strategic activities
- Create and implement shortterm and longterm action plans with clear deliverables
- Ensure supplier and other interested partiesalignment with sustainability program principles
- Achieve sustainability goals supporting Social Indigenous Local Procurement and SME initiatives
- Develop and implement sustainable supply chain standards and policies (e.g. Social Procurement Indigenous Procurement)
- Incorporate ESG and JEDI principles into the CPSS sustainability program
- Advise internal partners on specialized sustainable procurement activities
- Represent CPSS on corporate committees and build relationships with internal/external parties
- Bachelors degree in Business Administration Economics Commerce Finance or a related discipline
- A minimum of five 5 years diversified procurement contract management and/or supply chain management experience
- Experience managing and working with various interested parties (internal/external)
Assets:
- Masters Degree in a related field preferred
- Supply Chain Management Professional (SCMP) designation Certified Public Procurement Officer (CPPO) and/or other relevant professional designations will be considered an asset. Sustainability focus will be considered an asset
- Experience in a diversified procurement contract management and/or supply chain management environment
- Experience supporting and leading Sustainability projects/portfolios in the context of supply chain
- Experience in a formal leadership role within a large and complex organization
- Experience working with ERP systems such as SAP/Ariba
- Additional training in sustainability social enterprises social/benefit driven procurement financial management; public administration; government relations; project management; and/or change management
- Lived experience knowledge training and/or education related to First Nation Metis and Inuit communities
- Previous experience building and maintaining relationships with Indigenous partners and communities

Work Environment:
- Note: This position may be eligible for a hybrid work arrangement with the flexibility to work from both home and the worksite as per the Letter of Understanding between the City of Edmonton and Civic Service Union 52.
- The weekly hours of work for this position are currently under review and may change at a future time. Any changes will be made in accordance with the City of Edmonton/Civic Service Union 52 collective agreement and the incumbent will be notified in advance.

Hours of Work: 40 hours per week
Salary Range: $46.086 to $58.232 (Hourly); $96227.57 to $121588.42 (Annually)
