Job Description

The primary role of the Customized Training Representative (CTR) is to generate revenue via contract training and open enrollment noncredit and credit courses. This position includes managing a budget meeting revenue and profitability objectives cultivating new business building new client relationships managing established client relationships redirecting existing clients to new training/alternate revenuegenerating endeavors and overseeing training engagements.

Additionally CTRs are responsible for working with intracollege stakeholders (such as deans and faculty) to identify opportunities for collaboration and integration. This includes development of new programs enhancing existing programs and creating new courses that can act as a pathway to the academic program (creditbased) side of the college.

This position focuses specifically on growing the divisions peace officer portfolio.

Provide leadership to streamline and enhance the existing peace officer portfolio at Hennepin Technical College.

  • Review existing program processes and identify opportunities to streamline and enhance operations.
  • Increase student registration headcount by establishing sales and marketing strategies to increase community awareness of the college as a testing provider.
  • Serve as the primary program manager building out the course and faculty schedules as well as working collaboratively with internal operational contacts evaluators and actors to ensure program logistics are successfully executed.
  • Meet established program deliverables to foster a positive student experience.
  • Partner with area police and government departments as well as outside organizations to coordinate student cohorts and facility rentals as applicable.
  • Hire faculty and exam monitors on an ongoing basis to meet program needs.

Identify new workforce training programs build market and sales strategies and provide program management from project inception to completion to accelerate training in the designated areas.

  • Develop and deliver on sales strategies to increase the numbers of individuals served and the revenue generated for assigned areas of focus.
  • Consult with industry partners to determine and deliver appropriate relevant and timely continuing education and customized training programs (CECT).
  • Serve as the primary program manager for designated training topics ensuring that all communications and program logistics are flawlessly executed.
  • Follow all internal protocols working collaboratively to provide thorough documentation required for successful program .
  • Identify and recruit new and existing faculty to deliver and develop relevant programs.
  • Lead and direct instructors/faculty responsible for delivering training in areas of industry focus.
  • Establish and maintain ongoing corporate alliances and partnerships and develop consultative relationships in an effort to drive the communitys economic development through workforce improvements.
  • Work closely with the dean managers and other coordinators to identify areas of opportunity for new and existing programs.
  • Work with internal operations staff to promote programs to appropriate audiences (i.e. professional organizations governmental organizations industry associations students/alumni etc..

Represent CTS in appropriate internal and external meetings relevant trade associations regional and national conferences and Community Based Organizations (CBOs).

  • Participate in local state and national organizations. Analyze workforce and educational trends to identify and develop indemand training industry certifications and credentials needed in the workplace.
  • Identify relevant professional development opportunities to stay wellinformed within the industry sector.

Perform other duties as assigned to ensure the smooth functioning of the department and maintain the reputation of the organization as a viable business partner. Represent CTS in appropriate internal college functions.

Salary Range: $28.50 $50.52 (annually $59508 to $105486

Minimum Qualifications

  • 2 years of experience in establishing businesstobusiness relationships.
  • 2 years of program management experience
  • 2 years of workforce development training experience
  • 2 years of experience with law enforcement or law enforcement education
  • A bachelors degree may substitute for one year of experience an associate degree may substitute for 6 months of experience
  • Evidence of successful sales experience related to continuing education and training
  • Demonstrated success in revenuegenerating endeavors with an emphasis on program financial efficiency
  • Ability to plan organize and administer multiple projects set priorities and schedule activities in a rapidly changing environment.
  • Ability to work independently and adhere to State System and College priorities
  • Ability to communicate effectively in both written and oral form
  • Ability to perform in a team environment to accomplish customer goals
  • Detailoriented resultsoriented student and customerfocused
  • Skills in active listening using questioning techniques paraphrasing summarizing and handling objections

Preferred Qualification

  • Bachelors Degree
  • Knowledge of education philosophy and practices (adult learning) with regards to program and curriculum development and program assessment and evaluation
  • Understand key aspects of economic and workforce development training
  • Knowledge of education and training techniques/instructional methods as it relates to large and small groups
  • Knowledge of and experience with marketing techniques
