The Program Director/Clinical Coordinator at Nebraska Methodist College provides strategic oversight and leadership for the Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) program while also serving as the Academic Clinical Coordination Educator. This dual role ensures the continued excellence innovation and growth of the PTA program.

Strategic Vision and Collaboration

In this dual role the Program Director/Clinical Coordinator of the PTA program ensures the integration of academic and clinical education to align with evolving healthcare trends technological advancements and best practices in patient care. This includes fostering interdisciplinary collaboration within rehabilitation sciences promoting interprofessional education and addressing workforce demands in physical therapy.

The individual also leads efforts to maintain CAPTE accreditation ensuring compliance with accreditation standards through curriculum development faculty support and clinical site partnerships. Through strategic planning resource management and faculty mentorship the Program Director and Clinical Coordinator sustain a highquality educational experience that prepares PTA graduates for successful patientcentered careers in diverse healthcare settings.

As a 12month administrative appointment this role reports to the Dean of Health Professions supporting Nebraska Methodist Colleges mission to educate and inspire the next generation of healthcare professionals while advancing excellence in therapy education.

Education & Licensure:

Holds an active unencumbered Physical Therapist (PT) license in any U.S. jurisdiction.
A minimum of a masters degree in Physical Therapy.

Responsibilities:

Essential Functions

Clear formulation of learning objectives/outcomes demonstration by thorough course planning and thorough preparation for individual classroom laboratory and/or clinical sessions.

Systematic assessment of student learning.

Course revision as needed to increase effectiveness.

Assist in data collection for annual reports and accreditation requirements.

Participates in scholarship in work that is well expressed innovative comprehensive and visible and appropriate to rank in accordance with the Boyer Model of Scholarship.

Schedule:

Mon Fri normal business hours.

Job Requirements

Education

  • Masters degree in Physical Therapy required.

  • Professional development or education in:

    • Educational theory and methodology

    • Instructional design

    • Student evaluation and outcome assessment


Experience

  • A minimum of five years (or equivalent) of fulltime postlicensure professional experience including at least three years of fulltime clinical experience required.

  • Experience in classroom lab or clinical teaching required.

  • Experience in administration management and leadership including clinicbased roles required.

  • Demonstrated experience in student learning teaching excellence and curriculum development required.

  • Experience securing clinical sites monitoring contracts and creating clinical schedules for the PTA Program required.


License/Certifications

  • Physical Therapist (PT) license required.

  • Skills in communicating with students faculty and staff.

  • Strong analytical and organizational skills.

  • Proficient in software applications including but not limited to MS Outlook Word Excel PowerPoint and Teams.

  • Proficiency in database applications for file management communication and maintaining confidentiality.
