Job Description

The graphic designer is responsible for the creation and formatting of scientific PowerPoint presentations the creation and layout of scientific posters and the creation and formatting of complex figures and graphics. This position resides within Global Scientific Publications and requires close partnership with the medical writing team to ensure medical accuracy and to align with the objectives of the projects. Technical job responsibilities are as follows:

 

PowerPoint Specialist  

o Create and format complex scientific slides in accordance with brand and style guidelines

o Create icons graphics and custom builds to support scientific presentations and infographics and graphical abstracts for publications

o Create and format study design graphics and data tables/figures o Incorporate editorial and medical changes to presentations and graphics

o Design and create PowerPoint templates

Adobe Creative Suite Specialist  

o Create layout and format scientific posters in accordance with brand and style guidelines

o Create complex/custom scientific icons and graphics o Incorporate editorial and medical changes to posters and graphics

o Incorporate editorial and medical changes to posters and graphics

 

Essential skills: 

Provide timely and accurate development of assets. Meet established deadlines or provide reasonable notice to the project owner of delays or special circumstances requiring deadline extension

Prioritize and establish a wellbalanced project workload to ensure self and team effectiveness

Triage email and work requests appropriately prioritizing urgent items that may impact the team and/or project

Must be selfmotivated highly organized detailoriented and able to multitask with delivering high quality work

Possess strong teamwork attributes and cultural sensitivity

Attend all department meetings ensuring communication and consistency in deliverables staying current on process/procedures and contributing insights to the greater team


Qualifications :

  • BA degree in design advertising or communications preferred. Minimum 35 years work experience required. Experience within the design or advertising industry pharmaceutical or healthcare experience a plus. Experience in pharmaceutical or other highly regulated industry preferred. Able to work overtime when needed.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Adobe Creative Cloud applications (InDesign Photoshop Illustrator) and experience with project management tools.
    Experience with Adobe Experience Manager SFMC eMail builder and Knak eMail platform.
  • Specific areas of focus or expertise may include print/packaging design interactive design and problemsolving (HTML5 Java etc. photography/compositing 2D or 3D illustration/rendering animation/motion graphics and/or video editing. Portfolio: Must provide work samples to be considered
  • Should have good working knowledge of brand identity editorial design information graphics and data visualization typography packaging design convention graphics and signage print production web/digital interface and interactive design.
  • Must have design thinking skills as well as a good sense of appropriate design for audiences.
    Must ensure that design enhances and helps clearly communicate messages.
  • Must have enough design expertise to expand upon creative concepts that strongly support project objectives tone and positioning.
  • Must work well under pressure exercising good judgment as well as good interpersonal skills. Must be able to interpret and articulate ideas to colleagues in creative meetings and presentations.
    Must have a good grasp of project time requirements to be able to meet deadlines client expectations and avoid overcommitment.
  • Must be able to work collaboratively within a team and seek clarity amid ambiguity.
  • 3 years of experience in a creative team oriented and deadline driven environment developing print and digital materials with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. A high degree of initiative with a collaborative solutions oriented and innovative approach to every assignment. Adaptable and reliable able to process and respond to feedback quickly and effectively.
  • Collaboration: Builds and maintains effective working relationships while collaborating with peers internal stakeholders and external partners.
    Communication: Ability to communicate effectively both written presentation and orally in a professional manner. Ability to read and display professional nonverbal cues with others.
    Problem Solving: Ability to develop solutions to a variety of problems of moderate scope and complexity with a focus on improving business effectiveness.
  • Customer Focus: Consistently and competently delivers high quality service to customers and understands their value drivers. Understands how to use TypeCoach effectively in customer interactions.
    Technical Skills: Demonstrates excellent technical systems and business process skills.
    Latitude and attention to detail: Ability to work independently with a solid attention to detail while managing small and large projects within specified timelines in a matrix environment.

Key Stakeholders 

Position interacts frequently with internal stakeholders and in some cases external customers/vendors and represents the BSG organization to key stakeholders.

Individual compensation paid within this range will depend on many factors including geographic location and we may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range.   • This job is eligible to participate in our shortterm incentive programs.
