Job Description

AnokaRamsey Community College is seeking two 2 unlimited fulltime Mathematics faculty members. The position supports students by accommodating a wide range of student needs creating personal connections with students and colleagues connecting students with resources for their success and offering availability to students inside and outside class.

Candidates will be asked to teach developmental and first and secondyear collegelevel math courses from beginning algebra to differential equations including statistics.

The successful candidate will collaboratively engage with their discipline division campus and college through service on committees professional development and active involvement in other college initiatives. The Math Department has a strong commitment to innovative teaching practices including active learning and other studentcentered teaching practices; new faculty would be encouraged to implement comparable innovative practices.

Candidates could expect assignments to evening and online course sections. This position may teach courses associated with both the Coon Rapids and Cambridge campuses of AnokaRamsey Community College. The primary teaching responsibilities will be at the Rapids campus.

Minimum Qualifications

Education Requirement:

  • Masters degree with a major in Mathematics OR

  • Masters degree in any discipline/field with a minimum of 18 graduate semester credits 27 graduate quarter credits) in Mathematics

Preferred Qualification

  • Teaching experience in mathematics formal or informal direct or indirect

  • Demonstrated success working in a collaborative environment

  • Experience or a strong interest in integrating researchsupported studentcentered learning techniques such as active learning the use of academic technologies culturally responsive teaching and other proven strategies to support success for diverse communities of students

  • Demonstrated commitment to creating welcoming opportunities to connect with students oneonone such as alternate/flexible availability college events club advising and partnering with and promoting resources inside and outside the classroom

  • Demonstrated commitment to academic needs and reduce the equity gap of diverse communities of students including nontraditional students nonnative speakers of English students from different cultures students with disabilities firstgeneration college students and many others

  • Experience designing and implementing assessments that are accurate measures of a students progress and competency

SALARY & BENEFITS

Fulltime faculty salaries are based on an evaluation of education and related experience after a job offer has been accepted and currently range from $51303 $94592. Fulltime faculty work 171 days during a ninemonth academic year and receive excellent benefits including health insurance life insurance dental insurance short and longterm disability paid personal and sick leave retirement savings plans tuition waiver for employees and dependents professional development funds along with many optional benefit programs.

** Please note Initial Step Placement is established by the Minnesota State College Faculty (MSCF) contract in which sets salary limitations to what a new faculty member is able to begin at. This will differ from the maximum salary range in this posting. Salary will be commensurate with education and experience.
