The Montana Department of Transportation (MDT) is recruiting for a Software Developer. Working in a multiproject environment this position will oversee (organize direct review and approve the work of others in the performance of) or perform all tasks necessary to design construct and implement custombuilt computerized systems and applications for the Montana Department of Transportation. During the systems analysis phase of a project the incumbent will use or adapt as necessary the most current systems analysis and design methodologies from computer science including methods of gathering business requirements and business process analysis to effectively determine the requirements for a new system or the changes to be made to an existing system. The incumbent may recommend to the customer changes in the business processes based on the business analysis and predictive gains in efficiencies. Once the requirements have been documented he or she will direct a team to translate the requirements into computer algorithms write test document and implement the necessary programs. The position will direct the training of users and assess user satisfaction with the completed project. This position is part of a career ladder with career advancement opportunities.
