REGISTRAR OF VOTERS
Temporary Election Worker SpecialistTraining Option
The San Diego County Registrar of Voters is seeking Trainers to fill temporary employment positions to train poll workers for the upcoming April 8 2025 Special Primary Election.
The preferred candidate for this position should possess prior experience as a trainer. They must demonstrate the capacity to quickly absorb extensive and detailed information and effectively communicate it adhering to a precisely timed training script. Additionally professionalism patience and integrity are essential qualities for interacting with colleagues and a diverse group of volunteers.

- Ability to represent the Registrar of Voters in a professional/nonpartisan manner.
- Ability to work well within a team demonstrating supportive behaviors and a positive attitude.
- Ability to take direction and accept constructive feedback from team members and supervisors.
- Willingness to perform other duties as requested and to work a flexible schedule that may include evenings weekends and holidays.
Facilitation:
- Ability to communicate key points consistently and clearly in every class while adapting the presentation to the needs of a diverse group of adult volunteers.
- Skill and passion for training adult volunteers.
- Knowledge of facilitation skills including: the differences between presenting teaching and facilitating and appropriate techniques for handling challenging class participants.
- Ability to lead interactive class exercises and assist individual class participants with completing exercises correctly.
- Ability to apply the theories and principles of adult learning to deliver training.
Communication:
- Ability to communicate key points consistently and clearly in every class.
- Skill in interacting with adults with a diverse range of abilities.
- Ability to demonstrate friendly customerservice skills when interacting with poll workers.
- Abilityto appropriately handle poll workers questions during class.
- Ability toappropriately address poll workers comments during class including those of an opinionated and/or political nature.
AttentiontoDetail:
- Ability to learn and remember details of San Diego County election procedures and to accurately convey this information to poll workers using a provided script.
- Ability to assess and identify training participants who may be unable to adequately perform required duties.
Physical Ability:
- Ability and willingness to set up/take down training sites and clean up/reset after each training class.
- Ability to stand for 3 hours and to lift up to 30 lbs.
- Ability to drive and to show current Drivers License and proof of insurance.
Technical Ability:
- Ability to successfully facilitate discussion of training objectives with class participants.
- Ability to set up and operate classroom audiovisual equipment (instructions on use will be given).
Timeliness:
- Ability to arrive to all scheduled assignments on time.
- Ability to complete class sessions within accepted timeframes making adjustments when needed to cover key items.
Pay Rate:
