Position Summary
Reporting to the Director of Undergraduate Admissions the Associate Director collaborates with the units leadership team guiding workers and staff in planning developing implementing organizing and overseeing all facets of the undergraduate admission process utilizing the PeopleSoft Campus Solutions (CS) Database. The incumbent oversees daytoday operations related to processing undergraduate admissions applications ensuring accurate coding for reporting and compliance with state regulations. Additionally the Associate Director implements policies and procedures aimed at enhancing the accuracy and efficiency of undergraduate admissions evaluations. The Associate Director plays a key role in providing strategy planning and of workflows designed to support a strategic approach and meet annual enrollment targets of the university. Works independently under the general direction and broad goals set by the Director of Admissions with an emphasis on state compliance efficiency and effectiveness in meeting critical enrollment deadlines.

Required
The incumbent must have the ability to work effectively with individuals at all levels of the campus organization; work under general supervision; organize and plan work and project tasks and activities including handling multiple priorities in a project environment; review and understand workflow concepts and principals; conduct systems and business process planning development and administration; and take initiative to independently plan organize coordinate and perform work in various situations where numerous demands are involved. The incumbent must have the ability and/or interest in working in a multicultural/multiethnic environment.
Management Skills:
Possess enthusiasm and ideas for managing staff that will result in a team that is cohesive professional and committed to providing consistent and highquality service. Experience evaluating and coaching staff in ways which build employee skills and productivity. Knowledge of strategic budgeting principles.
Technical Skills:
Possess excellent analytical and technical skills. Ability to effectively use these skills when communicating with the various on and offcampus stakeholders of the services provided by Admissions. Ability to work effectively with Microsoft Office Suite (Word PowerPoint Excel etc..
Oral Communication:
Demonstrated ability to communicate professionally and competently with various types of audience including: College Deans Academic Department Chairs High School and Community College Counselors in an individual or group setting. Report writing experience is highly desired. Ability to competently and professionally interact with a culturally and ethnically diverse population of students faculty and staff.
Written Communication:
Demonstrated ability to communicate well in writing and prepare interoffice memos and other required University documents in a clear and professional manner.
Education: Masters degree in counseling education management public administration or a related degree. If incumbent does not hold a Masters degree then they must have extensive experience demonstrating their ability to serve in this capacity.
Desired
A minimum of 5 years of progressively responsible supervisory experience in university admissions and outreach. Demonstrated experience within a comprehensive university environment working with a highly diverse student and staff population. Ability to explain complex admissions decisions sensitively to students their families and community stakeholders.
Knowledge of CSU undergraduate admissions requirements and policies and procedures. Knowledge/understanding of policies and procedures from the CSU Chancellors Office perspective and how they impact the University. Knowledge of local state and federal laws and regulations that impact students and the University. Familiarity with the high schools and community colleges in California. Three years of experience in undergraduate student outreach or admissions. Experience with customer relations management software. Demonstrated ability to handle multiple projects at the same time. Experience working with Campus Solutions a Student Relationship Management software and survey toolssuch as Qualtrics.
