Temporary Pool-Administrative Support

APU is seeking a temporary pool of applicantswho desire to engage in our thriving culture by cultivating community through professional interactions demonstrating a posture of lifelong learning and modeling Christlike character. This is aCONTINUOUSTEMPORARY POOL. Temporary assignments are filled on an as needed basis. As a position becomes available you may be contacted by the hiring manager to schedule an interview.

Azusa Pacific Universitys Temporary Pool provides temporary administrative customer service and technical support for the University. This pool is open to all applicants.

Working through the Temporary Pool can provide employees with opportunities to:

• Work in a variety of administrative operational and academic departments.
• Learn University policies and procedures.
• Gain experience and exposure within the University allowing the opportunity to explore and expand career options.
• Accept or decline assignments based on their schedule and availability and the departments needs.
• Apply for regular fulltime assignments as those who are part of the Temporary Pool can simultaneously apply for regular posted positions.

Temporary Pool employees who want to maintain flexibility can remain in the Temporary Pool accepting assignments on a onebyone basis. Additionally the Temporary Pool is a potential entry point to continuing employment at the University.

Structure of Assignments

• Assignments through the Regular Temporary Pool areusually between 20 and 40 hours per week.
• All assignments will have a duration ofno more than three months with possibility of being extended once for up to three months additional.
• Some of the assignments may be planned well in advance of the work start date but many of the assignments are a result of emergent need and thus will provide only short notice.
• Assignments through the Temporary Pool will differ in the work performed; however typical work includes:
• Administrative/clerical
• Customer service
• Technical
• Data entry

Qualifications for the Temporary Pool

We are committed to matching applicants job skills and experience to departmental needs in order to ensure the success of all departments and temporary employees. Although the qualifications for specific job assignments will vary common qualifications include:

• Bachelors degree preferred or high school graduate with equivalent work experience.
• Higher education experience including previous experience at APU preferred
• Two to three years experience in a broad range of office functions.
• 50 wpm keyboard skill with a high degree of accuracy.
• Software proficiency (e.g. Word Excel PowerPoint Google Suite).
• Experience with PC platforms.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills with a demonstrated attention to detail.
• Excellent knowledge of general office procedures and practices.
• Demonstrated ability to handle confidential material and information with discretion.
• Sound organizational skills.
• Demonstrated ability to work independently.
• Demonstrated ability to adapt to changing office environments and assignment levels.
• Demonstrated ability to exercise mature judgment and initiative.

Compensation

Grade 7:$17.72 $25.33 is the hourly compensation for this role and reflects what Azusa Pacific University reasonably expects to pay for this position. Actual compensation may vary based on the qualifications experience and internal rate of pay for assignments will vary depending on the duties and responsibilities of the position and the qualifications of the individual. Temporary pool employees are not considered eligible for benefits.
