The outpatient pharmacy support person is responsible for nontechnical duties assigned by a supervising pharmacist including but not limited to delivery of medications/goods performing routine errands within the building(s) clerical duties processing wholesale drug orders receiving requests by phone or in person performing drug inventory duties assisting in the cleaning of the work area and restocking and ordering of supplies.
Foremost among the responsibilities is the delivering of parcels and goods to patients through accurate and efficient shipment transport receipt and distribution.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education:
High School Diploma or Equivalent
Experience:
Proven history of identifying issues and conflicts and working proactively toward resolution.
Knowledge of supply chain practices medical supplies storage and supply distribution.
License(s)/Certification(s):
Valid Iowa drivers license for at least three years with an acceptable or clear rating according to the Motor Vehicle Record chart. (see below)
Must have a minimum of 2 years driving experience with no record of DUI DWI or similar alcohol or drug related offenses over the past 5 years.
In addition there will be no record of reckless driving careless driving speeding over 15 miles above the speed limit fleeing or eluding a police officer chemical test refusal leaving the scene of an accident driving after revocation or suspension or passing a stopped school bus in the last 5 years.
Able to operate manual and automatic transmission vehicles.
Registered as a support person with the Board of Pharmacy within 30 days of hire.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
Ability to work accurately and quickly with numerous interruptions.
Ability to maintain a clean orderly work environment using efficient processes.
Must be able to work safely with minimal supervision and assume timely completion of duties.
Performs basic math calculations.
Communicate effectively in person and via phone.
Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
Other:
Use of usual and customary equipment used to perform essential functions of the position including motor vehicles and carts.
