Pay Rate: $26.06 $39.09
Position Summary
The Physical Therapist Assistant performs selected patient treatments with the instruction from Leader of Rehabilitation Services who has the responsibility for supervision of the Staff Physical Therapist and has responsibility for utilization supervision instruction and evaluation of supportive staff volunteers and students working in the department/facility. Prepares patients and equipment for treatment; helps perform the housekeeping duties of the department/facility; performs other diverse duties as requested or required.
Position Requirements:
- Valid PTA license
- Minimum 2 years of experience
- AHA BLS ACLS
- NIHSS
- EPIC/Beacon experience
- COVID Vaccine
- TB HepB MMR Varicella Influenza Tdap
- Mask Fit
- Drivers License
- Physical within 1 year
- 2 References
- Skills competencies
- Education and employment verifications
- Other vaccination records as required by facility
Job Responsibilities
- Aids in the care and safety of patients. Performed regularly every hour.
- Prepares equipment for patient treatments as requested by the Physical Therapist to relieve the Physical Therapist to perform other professional duties. Performed daily.
- Assists Physical Therapist in selected procedures according to the Physical Therapists directions by checking patient and equipment during treatment for comfort and safety; aids in patient care in the department/facility. Performed regularly every hour.
- Responsible for bookkeeping procedures and charting of the assigned area ensuring confidentiality of all records.
- Under the supervision of the Physical Therapist performs certain Physical Therapy treatments. This position is one of considerable responsibility.
- Prepares written documentation as required by the profession and the department such as evaluation results treatment plans progress reports and other such reports.
- Provides guidance and direction to Physical Therapy Aides or others assigned to assist.
- Treats patients of all ages (infant pediatric adolescent adult geriatric) including the mentally and physically challenged.
Special Requirements:
May need to attend professional meetings or educational programs which require travel and overnight stays. Must be able to secure reliable transportation for Home Health/Hospice if applicable. Must wear identification pin. Must be accessible by telephone.
