Job Description
A technician sought for diagnostic molecular biology and immunology for companion animals (canine and feline) in the Clinical Hematopathology Laboratory Department of Microbiology Immunology and Pathology Colorado State University College of Veterinary Medicine and Biomedical Sciences . The duties of this position include: Carrying out PCR and flow cytometry assays on clinical samples from small animal patients for the Clinical Hematopathology Service. Carrying out client communications (veterinarians are our main clients) entering sample data reporting and other administrative responsibilities associated with the Service. Maintaining the laboratory including ordering making media refilling liquid nitrogen keeping order and other responsibilities to keep the lab running smoothly. Participation in clinical rounds and technical research rounds. Supervising undergraduate and student hourly employees as needed. Weekend and holiday shifts are included in this position Although this is a 40hour a week position daily hours can vary based on samples received. The personal qualities we are seeking are primarily meticulous attention to detail a strong work ethic the ability to work in a team while taking personal responsibility for your work and the ability to communicate well with clients. One result of being employed in this position will be to gain substantial experience with PCR and flow cytometry assays
