Join Our Creative Community: Teaching Professor of Digital Photography
The Department of Art and Design at Montclair State University is excited to announce an opening for a fulltime 10month) NonTenure Track Teaching Professor (NTTP) specializing in Digital Photography and Creative Digital Print Output. This is a distinctive opportunity to combine your passion for teaching with leadership in managing the Creative Print Center a hub of artistic innovation and collaboration that shapes the academic and creative journeys of our students.
As a Teaching Professor youll inspire and mentor the next generation of visual artists by teaching foundational and advanced courses in digital photography such as ARST215: Digital Photography for Majors and ARPH201: Digital Photography and Imaging. You may also teach courses like ARST205: Photography (focused on traditional processes) or ARST206: Printmaking depending on your expertise and departmental needs. With over 390 Visual Arts majors and 90 minors your teaching will be central to building students creative vision and skill mastery.
Beyond the classroom youll have the unique opportunity to lead the Creative Print Center a vital resource for over 1020 students across four academic programs. Youll oversee its operations support innovative interdisciplinary projects and help students explore the boundaries of digital printmaking through techniques like transparency layering collage and installation. Additionally youll collaborate with faculty and students on public exhibitions and events that annually showcase more than 500 student artworks.

QUALIFICATIONS:
The candidate must have a terminal Graduate Degree (e.g. M. F. A. or equivalent) in Visual Arts or relevant discipline; demonstrate administrative ability; a strong record of universitylevel teaching excellence; a commitment to visual arts pedagogy through experiential learning and teaching experience in student mentorship; and a significant record of work in the professional field.

THE DEPARTMENT OF ART AND DESIGN
The Department of Art & Design (ARDS) offers four undergraduate degrees: a BA in Fashion Design and Merchandising a BA in Visual Art with an optional concentration in Art Education a BFA in Illustration and a BFA in Visual Communication Design. The department supports its talented student body of over 1000 majors with a range of specialized studios and facilities including seven computer labs and analog studios for small fabrication ceramics 3D design drawing painting printmaking photography and apparel creation. The departments Creative Print Center enables students to work on course projects across various surfaces while the Finley Gallery showcases student work throughout the academic year.
Our programs emphasize teaching and learning that fosters critical thinking problemsolving skill development and an understanding of disciplinary history and cultural contexts. We also prioritize experiential learning opportunities including internships to prepare students for their careers. The departments fulltime faculty of 17 consists of scholars practicing designers and visual artists who are dedicated to making a positive impact on students lives and the broader community.
THE COLLEGE OF THE ARTS
The College of the Arts (CART) at Montclair State University offers 50 undergraduate and graduate programs and certificates through its four academic units: the Department of Art & Design the School of Communication and Media the John J. Cali School of Music and the Department of Theatre and Dance. SALARY RANGE: Commensurate with experience
