Amazon Kindle is a revolutionary reading device and one of the most innovative and fastest growing businesses at Amazon. We are seeking a passionate software engineer who wants to build high quality mission critical software and reusable software libraries to help shape the future of eBooks.
We are looking for exceptional motivated software engineers to work in the Kindle Reader organization.
As an SDE you will build GenAI powered automation frameworks across multiple surfaces. Role involves developing scalable infrastructure integrating with AWS services and implementing AIbased solutions for UI testing. Experience with LLMs automation and distributed systems preferred.
You will work with worldclass engineers business leaders and other talented engineering teams while you design architect and code for Kindle. As a software engineer you will think big and drive architecture decisions Kindle Library cross OS development app UX experience and service integrations to deliver awesome reader experience. We are looking for a passionate hardworking and talented software engineer who has experience building mission critical high volume applications that customers love.
Key job responsibilities
The Software Engineer will contribute to the definition development integration test documentation and support of software across multiple digital surfaces for Kindle Readers and Applications. This handson position will engage your engineering capabilities and technical knowledge of software development while developing experience successfully planning organizing and conducting software development projects in a dynamic environment.
Responsible for the architecture of software solutions working with and improving on current limitations and compatibilities between subsystems building new concepts and methodology and the development of major routines and utilities.
Designing and Building new features that are highly performant
Preparation of technical requirements and software design specifications.
Understanding the internals of graphics subsystems.
Instilling best practices for software development and documentation making sure designs meet requirements and delivering high quality software on tight schedules.
3 years of noninternship professional software development experience
2 years of noninternship design or architecture (design patterns reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
Experience programming with at least one software programming language
3 years of full software development life cycle including coding standards code reviews source control management build processes testing and operations experience
Bachelors degree in computer science or equivalent

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $129300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $223600/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on jobrelated knowledge skills and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered equity signon payments and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package in addition to a full range of medical financial and/or other benefits.
