About the opportunity
The School of Nursing invites applications for an Assistant Dean of Graduate Programs with a faculty appointment as an assistant associate or full clinical professor. This position is a fulltime benefitseligible 52week position with a starting date of January 2024 or until the position is filled.
Responsibilities
The Assistant Dean Graduate Programs for the School of Nursing has responsibility for the schools graduate academic programs and students academic progression experience and success. The Assistant Dean is responsible for oversight of the graduate curriculum including learning outcomes assessment and evaluation curriculum content and revisions accreditation provides recommendations on fulltime faculty workload hiring parttime didactic faculty and teaching effectiveness as well as performance and evaluation of the faculty responsible for graduate education. This is done in collaboration with the School Dean the Assistant Deans for Undergraduate Programs and Clinical Affairs the Director of Quality and Compliance PhD and DNP Program Directors and the Bouv Deans Office Leadership including the Associate Dean Outreach Engagement and Belonging and Associate Dean for Administration and Finance and their teams. The Assistant Dean maintains effective relations and visibility with acute care longterm care and community health agencies used for clinical affiliations in the graduate program. The Assistant Dean will also have responsibility for oversight of preceptor evaluation and for all graduate programs. The Assistant Dean will lead accreditation and regulatory efforts on behalf of the graduate programs including but not limited to annual program assessment and evaluations. The Assistant Dean is integral to carrying out the strategic plan of the School and College in relationship to teachingacademic program offerings interdisciplinary course activities mentorship of faculty faculty scholarship and service.
Qualifications
Qualifications require a degree in nursing and earned doctorate in nursing education public health or related field by the start date of the appointment eligibility for an unrestricted RN licensure in Massachusetts proven teaching excellence in graduate nursing and demonstrated excellence and commitment to supporting faculty staff and students The candidate should have a minimum of 5 years of experience in curriculum development and nursing accreditation standards possess effective interpersonal oral and written communication skills with proven leadership experience in a major academic setting; experience in preparation in teaching and learning principles including curriculum development implementation and evaluation.
