Job Description

The Division of Adolescent Medicine in the Department of Pediatrics at Stanford University seeks an innovative and collaborative researcher to join the Division as an Assistant Professor Associate Professor or Professor in the University Tenure Line University Medical Line or the Nontenure Line (Research). We are particularly interested in candidates with MD MD/PhD PhD (or equivalent degrees).

  • The predominant criterion for appointment in the University Tenure Line is a major commitment to research and teaching.
  • The major criteria for appointment for faculty in the University Medical Line shall be excellence in the overall mix of clinical care clinical teaching scholarly activity that advances clinical medicine and institutional service appropriate to the programmatic need the individual is expected to fulfill.
  • The major criterion for appointment for faculty in the Nontenure Line (Research) is evidence of highlevel performance as a researcher for whose special knowledge a programmatic need exists.

Faculty rank and line will be determined by the qualifications and experience of the successful candidate. The typical candidate would have board certification in adolescent medicine or comparable experience and training which may include training or certifications obtained outside of the US.

The Division of Adolescent Medicine is dedicated to promoting the physical and emotional wellbeing of adolescents and young adults through clinical care education research leadership and advocacy. The clinical program is multifaceted.

The educational program provides education and training at several levels.

Research and scholarly activity within the Division of Adolescent Medicine focuses on understanding and promoting adolescent and young adult health and preventing engagement in health risk behaviors both in the US and globally. Notable studies include:

The expected base pay range for likely disciplines are listed below. This pay range reflects base pay which is based on faculty rank and years in rank. It does not include all components of the School of Medicines faculty compensation program or pay from participation in departmental incentive compensation programs.
