Amazon Route 53 is a highly available and scalable Domain Name System (DNS) service offered by Amazon Web Services. We operate in over 50 locations worldwide and provide advanced functionality such as latencybased routing (LBR) Private DNS Geo DNS routing DNS failover and integration with Amazon CloudFront Amazon S3 and Amazon Elastic Load Balancing. On top of that we offer fast change propagation with a 100 availability SLA. Our service is quickly growing and were expanding in multiple directions: adding new features and functionality to our DNS services better traffic management new AWS integrations improving our health check capabilities and expanding with new services in the naming and routing space. Amazon Route 53 is looking for an experienced Senior Software Development Engineer to join our Edge team. In this role you will design develop and operate services and systems for our global edge fleets. The ideal candidate has experience working with distributed systems networking and infrastructure and thrives in a highly collaborative creative analytical and fastpaced environment.

5 years of noninternship professional software development experience
5 years of programming with at least one software programming language experience
5 years of leading design or architecture (design patterns reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
Experience as a mentor tech lead or leading an engineering team

5 years of full software development life cycle including coding standards code reviews source control management build processes testing and operations experience
Bachelors degree in computer science or equivalent

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $151300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $261500/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on jobrelated knowledge skills and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered equity signon payments and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package in addition to a full range of medical financial and/or other benefits.
