Job Summary:

The Athletics Department at Marist University invites applications for a parttime 12month position of assistant football coach cornerbacks. The parttime assistant coach position will participate in the preparation coordination practice & game plan preparation and of practice plans during the academic year. The position is responsible for the identification research of and communication with prospective studentathletes during the calendar year. The assistant coach will also assist in the academic personal and career mentoring of studentathletes.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelors degree
• 13 years of relevant work experience
• Valid drivers license with no serious convictions
• Ability to complete CPR/AED certification
• Ability to pass NCAA recruiting test

Essential Functions:

Recruit athletes to Marist University by:

• Researching showcases high school games and other relevant recruiting opportunities of prospective studentathletes.
• Preparing and coordinating the recruiting calendar and accommodations in accordance with the NCAA Pioneer League and institution regulations.
• Evaluating prospective studentathletes by traveling to the tournaments showcases high school games tryouts and other relevant recruiting opportunities during permissible recruiting periods.
• Conducting appropriate communication with coaches prospective studentathletes and parents.
• Coordinating and executing official and unofficial visits to campus for prospective student athletes and their families.
• Active participant in all NCAA rules education programs.

Provide mentoring to studentathletes inside and outside of practice on their academic personal civic and career aspirations for the future.

Assist the Head Coach in developing the game strategy and designing effective and efficient training and practices for both the team and individual studentathlete by:

• Formulating effective game plans for competition.
• Conducting individual and small group training sessions.
• Conducting comprehensive film review from practices and games.
• Preparing daily team practice plans.
• Working games and practices.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Masters degree
