Job Description

The University of Iowa Health Care Department of Nursingis seeking a 100 Medical Assistant IIto work for Radiation Oncology. Radiation Oncology is dedicated to excellence in patient care. As a Medical Assistant youll be an integral part of our dynamic team supporting healthcare professionals and ensuring topquality service for our patients. Each day our clinic sees over 75 cases of varying complexity that covers the spectrum and severity of all types of cancer. We provide patient centered care delivered by a professional team of physicians nurses therapists dosimetrists and physicists.

Duties to include:

  • Staff will support ourRadiation Oncology patients.
  • Responsible forfacilitatingthe smooth flow of patients through the clinic through interaction with patients families and staff.
  • Leads and ensures an efficient rooming process for patients including but not limited to obtaining vital signs patient history medication records allergies and immunizations.
  • Assists in clinic with physical examination of patients and related treatments.
  • Supports management of internal and external medical records to ensure thataccurateand complete data is available for patient appointments.
  • Obtains routine laboratory samples such as urinalysis and blood work as needed.
  • Performs related clerical tasks including answering phones scheduling appointments andprovidinginformation to other departments.
  • Works closely with Central Sterile team to ensure delivery of reusable instruments for processing accounting for return of all instruments to clinic monitoring reports and supporting organization of new instruments.
  • Stocks supplies stocks rooms and monitors expirations.
  • Daily weekly monthly audits.
  • Supports strong patient experience metrics by providing high quality and patient centered care.

Percent of Time: 100
Hourly: $19.21 to commensurate
Schedule:Day shifts Monday Friday.. No weekends holidays or call.
