Job Description
Would you like to help drive infrastructure and engineering development for one of the largest security video systems in the world The Global Security Operations Video Infrastructure team is seeking an experienced Technical Program Manager to further expand secure and accelerate the next generation of video infrastructure automation at Amazon.
The Video Infrastructure teams mission is to build deploy and support AWSbased tools for installing and configuring thirdparty Video Management System (VMS) software used at Amazon Operations sites. We are looking for a Technical Program Manager with a strong background in networking server and systems engineering cloud computing and software development best practices. This role will require working with technical and nontechnical stakeholders coordinating the work of multidisciplinary project teams documenting product requirements providing detailed project updates to leaders and customers and providing reporting on all aspects of the Amazon video systems infrastructure.
Key job responsibilities
Establish credibility and maintain strong working relationships with groups involved in video infrastructure including: Program Managers and Developers on peer teams Loss Prevention Operations IT Services InfoSec and others
Identify functional and technical requirements for team products by collecting inputs from business physical security and technical teams.
Develop thorough knowledge of the technical capabilities of the Amazon Operations video systems and the operations processes used to support them
Work across teams to drive manage and track longterm projects
Provide consistent executivelevel reporting on project status and outcomes
Address bottlenecks provide escalation management anticipate and make tradeoffs and balance the business needs versus technical constraints
Organize and help drive the work of the engineering team through Agile development and project delivery best practices
A day in the life
Our team develops tools using AWS services to deploy configure and manage our global fleet of Video Management System (VMS) servers. We use Agile Scrum to track our project work conducting biweekly sprint planning meetings and 3 standup meetings a week to coordinate efforts. We work closely with our internal stakeholders in both IT and Loss Prevention. Typical project work includes creating tools using AWS Systems Manager S3 Lambda Functions DynamoDB and other AWS services for deploying and configuring the VMS fleet. Typical operations work includes providing escalation support for anything that the frontline support teams require assistance with.

The Video Management System (VMS) is a critical tool for ensuring the safety of Amazon associates and the security of our facilities. Our teams vision is to make sure the VMS infrastructure is easy to deploy configured the same way at each site highly available and used to its full potential. Were a small collaborative engineering team who overlap in responsibilities and project work. Plan to spend time working will teammates on building and supporting new tools for making our vision a reality and on coordinating closely with stakeholders to ensure their needs are met by our team and infrastructure.
5 years of technical product or program management experience
Experience in technical program management working directly with software engineering teams
Experience managing programs across cross functional teams building processes and coordinating release schedules
2 years software development or systems engineering experience
5 years of project management disciplines including scope schedule budget quality along with risk and critical path management experience
Experience defining KPIs/SLAs used to drive multimillion dollar businesses and reporting to senior leadership
Experience leading highly technical programs involving infrastructure complex systems systems engineering
Experience owning/driving roadmap strategy and definition
