MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Six months of fulltime experience working with the public or with community groups performing duties such as interviewing clients or patients concerning health or social service matters answering questions and providing information about health mental health and social services to clients or patients OR Six months of experience at the level of the Los Angeles County class of Mental Health Peer Advocate.
You MUST meet the above requirement(s) in order to be appointed to fill any vacancies related to this recruitment.
Mental Health Advocate in the County of Los Angeles is defined as providing a variety of peer support advocacy and other recovery services to clients transitioning to community living.
Work performed parttime in the specified capacities will be prorated on a monthformonth basis.
LICENSE:A validCalifornia Class C Driver License or the ability to utilize an alternative method of transportation to carry out jobrelated essential functions.
PHYSICAL CLASS:2 Light. This class includes administrative and clerical positions requiring light physical effort that may include occasional light lifting to a 10 pound limit and some bending stooping or squatting. Considerable ambulation may be involved.
EXAMINATION CONTENT:Under the emergency order applicants who meet the requirements may be hired for an initial period of up to 90 days with an opportunity for permanent County employment.
Before the end of your initial work period you will be assessed on your work performance. This assessment will be weighted 100. Those who successfully pass the assessment will be considered for permanent appointment.
