Job Summary

Campus Recreation encourages the campus community to embrace fun and wellbeing through movement challenge and play. The Program Manager Club and Competition will be responsible for providing leadership level oversight for Redbird Gaming Club and student leader development fiscal responsibility risk management project and competitive team planning functions for the club and competitive unit of the program area. The individual will supervise evaluate and train professional and student personnel with a strong focus on coaching and mentoring students. The position will work with student groups and departments to plan and hold events in all facilities that meet University guidelines and risk mitigation/safety protocols with a strong focus on utilizing the planning process as an educational opportunity.

Required Qualifications

  1. Bachelors degreeearned prior to start date
  2. Three years of professional level experience in Esports/gaming program management in higher education
  3. Demonstrated skills abilities and/or experience in the following:
    a. organizational skills in league management and tournament organization (rules scheduling and administration)
    b. experience in Esports/gaming club or competitive team management
    c. familiarity with a broad range of gaming VR and/or Esports equipment and experience maintaining facility and gaming equipment inventory
    d. ability to communicate proficiently both verbally and in writing

Preferred Qualifications

  1. Masters degree in related field
  2. Two or more years of professional experience in the collegiate environment
  3. Demonstrated experience in/with the following:
    a. as an esports team coach at the club or varsity level
    b. advising club/organization student leaders and/or advising a club/organization leadership council
    c. competitive leagues and competition platforms for esports
    d. summer camp development and oversight
    e. university esports club development
  4. Possess American Red Cross CPR/AED/BBP/First Aid instructor certification
  5. Familiarity and/or comfort with Fusion (or equivalent member management software) and GG Leap (or equivalent LAN management program)

Work Hours

Core Hours: 11:00am7:00pm Monday through Friday some nights and weekends

Functional Expectations

Must be able to complete the following with or without a reasonable accommodation:

  1. Effectively communicate on a daily basis.
  2. Remain at a workstation for extended periods
  3. Move about in various locations across campus as needed to complete daytoday work.

The Civil Service examination for this classification is based on your application materials and responses to the supplemental questions. No participation other than submission of applicant materials is required from applicants that qualify to take the exam. If you meet the minimum required qualifications for this position you will receive a score calculated based on your education and experience and your name will be placed on the active employment register by exam score. After the application deadline the names within the top three scores will be referred to the department for interview. The active register for this classification will be voided when the position is filled.
