Cyber Security Engineer

Job Overview: Our client type of business is seeking to add a NEW Cyber Security Engineer to their team. Cyber Security Engineer is responsible for overall daily expectations. To be successful in the role of Title you must have hands on experience in Network Security as well as creating Cyber Policies and Programs specifically SOC2 compliance.

This is a Direct Hire role.

This role will be responsible for creating cyber programs and policies proactively monitoring assessing and mitigating all security risks across our systems and networks as well as doing hands on Network Security. This will require a deep understanding of cyber threats and vulnerabilities to be able to build out strong security measures to protect our organizations sensitive information and infrastructure.
Responsibilities and skills you ideally bring to the table as a Cyber Security Engineer
  • Lead the design implementation and maintenance of enterprisewide security solutions/programs like SOC2 compliance to protect against cyber threats and attacks
  • Conduct comprehensive security assessments and risk analyses to identify and prioritize vulnerabilities and weaknesses in our systems and infrastructure
  • Develop and implement security policies standards and procedures to ensure compliance with industry regulations and best practices
  • Serve as a subject matter expert on securityrelated technologies including SIEM IDS/IPS firewalls endpoint security and encryption
  • Lead incident response activities including threat detection containment eradication and recovery and ensure timely resolution of security incidents
  • Collaborate with IT and development teams to integrate security controls into the software development lifecycle and DevOps processes
  • Investigate security breaches and incidents and provide detailed reports on root cause and remediation steps going forward
  • Stay up to date with industry standards emerging cyber threats and best practices making recommendations to enhance security
  • Utilize resources to create and conduct security awareness training sessions for all team members
  • Conduct regular assessment and vulnerability scans to identify potential risks and weaknesses
  • Participate in all response recovery and analysis efforts as needed

Desirable Previous Experience
  • Experience designing and implementing security solutions in complex environments
  • Working expertise in networking network protocols operating systems and security technologies with a strong understanding of security principles and best practices
  • Proven experience with security assessment tools penetration testing and vulnerability management
  • Handson experience with cloud security platforms (e.g. AWS Azure GCP) and container security technologies
  • Strong leadership and communication skills with the ability to effectively collaborate with crossfunctional teams and influence stakeholders at all levels
  • Relevant certifications such as CISSP CISM CEH or GIAC are highly desired
  • Experience in regulated industries (e.g. finance healthcare) and familiarity with compliance frameworks (e.g. NIST PCI DSS GDPR) is a plus
