Job Description

The Operations & Information Management (OIM) Department of the Isenberg School of Management invites applications for two fulltime Lecturer positions nontenure track in Information Systems and Data Management to start in February or September 2025.

This fulltime position requires teaching six course sections per academic year plus providing departmental service. Teaching responsibilities include multiple graduate level sections of the courses Strategic Information Management Data Management for Business Leaders Data Science for Business or other courses at the graduate and undergraduate levels as needed. Expertise in spreadsheets computer programming and business analytics tools is desired.

The initial appointment will be for two years with renewal based on performance. Lecturers at UMass Amherst enjoy significant benefits and status under the negotiated faculty contract (see Article 21 of the MSP/MTA/NEA contract linked on this page: The Lecturer will join a team of faculty noted for excellence and innovation in undergraduate and graduate education. The successful candidate will work with faculty and advising staff to assess student outcomes and foster student success.

Requirements

Prior to the start date candidates must have a masters degree from an accredited institution of higher education in an area such as Information Systems Computer Science Data Science or a related discipline with a doctorate degree preferred. Demonstrated ability or potential to teach information systems and data management courses at the undergraduate and graduate levels in facetoface and online formats is required.

Additional Information

Salary will be commensurate with experience.
