Minimum Qualifications:
High School Diploma or GED PLUS Successful completion of the Medical Assistant training program.
BLS (CPR) Certification.
Ability to perform pointofcare testing draw and collect blood specimens and prepare for laboratory processing.
Preferred Qualifications:
A minimum of 1 year of phlebotomy and MA experience.
Previous experience in an ambulatory care setting.

Responsibilities:
Assists provider with medical procedures and examinations.
Researches physicians orders/accession orders within Epic environment before submission to clinical laboratory or appropriate processing center. Collects/records patients data acquires patient vital signs and may utilize skills such as phlebotomy.
Performs additional skills such as EKGs dressing changes set up for and assisting provider with procedures and examinations and administering approved medications per UAMS policy.
Manages the patient appointment schedule by balancing medical needs with patients timetables.
Greets all patients/customers professionally and courteously upon arrival at the clinic.
Performs patient registration/checkout answer telephones and other office administration duties as required.
Coordinates appointments referrals consults tests and/or procedures.
Checkin and register patients checkout collect payments issue receipts and verify insurance coverage.
Responds appropriately to the requirements of thirdparty payers requesting medical records and surgery scheduling.
Other duties may be assigned to this position.
