Student Counseling Services (SCS) offers a 10month Externship/Advanced Therapy Practicum beginning August 1 2025 and ending on May 31 2026. Our focus is to provide a strong clinical experience for our externs that integrates the development of clinical competence and ethical practice with professional growth and development in a supportive environment. Externs will be exposed to a full range of clinical services therapeutic perspectives and interdisciplinary skills within a University Counseling Center. While clients we serve may request to engage in services via telehealth externs will only provide telehealth services while working onsite.
Applicants are carefully selected based on their prior clinical experience strong recommendations from their home program and/or previous practicum supervisors and an inperson interview with the dedicated staff at Student Counseling Services. This thorough process ensures a collaborative and enriching training experience tailored to support each externs growth and success.

$1200 to $1300 per month
1. Applicants must be currently enrolled in a Ph.D. or Psy.D. program in Clinical or Counseling Psychology.
2. Successful completion of at least one doctorallevel therapy practicum prior to the start date.
The office is open Monday through Friday 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM with occasional evening hours as business needs dictate. Practicum students are expected to work 1720 hours across 23 days per week.
Must be able to complete the following with or without a reasonable accommodation:
1. Remain at a workstation for extended periods
2. Move about in various locations on and off campus as needed to complete daytoday work
3. Effectively communicate on a daily basis
