Job Description

This role will be based in Washington DC.

LinkedIn is seeking an experienced and strategic leader to join the U.S. Public Policy Federal team to manage engagements with federal government stakeholders. This role is essential in advancing LinkedIns policy priorities and promoting our mission to create economic opportunity for every member of the global workforce. The ideal candidate will advocate on our legislative and regulatory goals build and maintain relationships with policymakers and serve as a trusted advisor on public policy issues affecting the organization.

As Congressional Lead for U.S. Public Policy and Economic Graph you will be responsible for the following duties in addition to working with a global crossfunctional team of leading experts in the future of work and tech policy space.  

Responsibilities:  

  • Develop and execute strategies to influence federal legislative and regulatory policies that align with LinkedIns business objectives and values.  
  • Support U.S. Head of Public Policy & Economic Graph on regulation legislation and proposals in the tech and workforce policy space. 
  • Cultivate and manage relationships with key policymakers regulators congressional staff and industry associations. 
  • Engage proactively with policymakers and influencers to highlight LinkedIns impact on the economy and its vision of creating the worlds first economic graph. 
  • Actively monitor and analyze federal legislation regulations and public policy trends impacting LinkedIn and the broader tech sector.  
  • Represent LinkedIn in meetings hearings and events with government officials trade groups and other stakeholders. 
  • Work with trade associations industry partners and external stakeholders to promote and build support for LinkedIn. 
  • Collaborate with internal teams including Legal Product Communications the Economic Graph Research Institute and other business lines to ensure alignment on public policy priorities share insights and enhance the Public Policy teams thoughtleadership efforts. 
  • Develop policy briefs advocacy materials testimony engagement plans to effectively communicate LinkedIns positions on key issues and provide updates about policy developments.  
  • Work closely with LinkedIns global and regional teams to ensure consistency coordination and effectiveness in achieving our U.S. public policy and government affairs goals. 
  • Create submit and support internal archival and resource processes for capturing data notes and briefs.

Qualifications :

Basic Qualifications:  

  • 10 years of experience with tech policy and/or workforce systems. 
  • Experience working in the technology sector or related sector. 
  • Experience working in congress or a federal government agency or organization. 
  • Understanding of the federal policymaking and regulatory process.   

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Strong industry knowledge of technology policy issues including artificial intelligence data privacy and security internet policy competition workforce development economic opportunity and future of work issues. 
  • Proven experience in federal government relations advocacy or public policy preferably in the tech or social media sectors. Ideally having previously worked in at least two of the following: the U.S. House of Representatives the U.S. Senate the White House or a federal agency with relevant jurisdiction. 
  • Strong knowledge of federal legislative and regulatory processes with existing relationships on Capitol Hill and within federal agencies. 
  • Experience working in the technology industry with an understanding of the core tech policies. 
  • Demonstrated expertise in effectively communicating and advocating policy priorities to internal stakeholders and external partners driving alignment and fostering meaningful collaboration. 
  • Exceptional written and oral communication skills with a talent for turning complex issues into ones that are easily understood by a broader audience. 
  • Selfmotivated executionoriented and strategic; ability to execute at a high level of quality in a fastpaced complex environment. 
  • Resultsdriven and detailoriented. 
  • Excellent sense of humor flexible by nature comfortable with ambiguity.

LinkedIn is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices.  

The pay range for this role is $166000 to $271000. Actual compensation packages are based on several factors that are unique to each candidate including but not limited to skill set depth of experience certifications and specific work location. This may be different in other locations due to differences in the cost of labor.
