Med-Peds Hospitalist

Adult Hospitalist Duties/requirements:

• Options for days only and Nocturnist only
• 1215 patients on average
• Closed ICU
• 141 adult acute beds (this does not include BH or OB or SCN beds)

Pediatric Hospitalist Duties/Requirements:

Physicians will work both independently and in collaboration with a multidisciplinary care team to assess diagnose manage and evaluate the health care needs of neonates infants and children. Physicians in this position will care for patients affected by prematurity respiratory distress infectious diseases congenital heart disease and/or other anomalies. Clinical responsibilities include attendance at deliveries (including highrisk) resuscitation of newborns care of healthy newborns daytoday management of babies in the Level II Nursery and care of hospitalized children. Procedures performed include circumcisions umbilical central lines lumbar punctures frenulectomies intubations and emergent needle decompression of pneumothorax.

Collaborative/Supportive Partnerships:
The Mankato pediatric inpatient team is composed of pediatric hospitalists and advanced practice providers (APPs). The APPs assist with care of normal Mayo Clinic pediatric subspecialists in Rochester provide a ready source of support and consultation.

• Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant support
• Dedicated Social Work support and Lactation Consultant support.

The Electronic Delivery Room platform (eDR) provides immediate electronic connectivity to Rochester neonatologists 24/7 via remote video guidance.

Practice Dynamics (Inpatient/Outpatient Call Outreach):
This position is solely inpatient. Hospitalists stay inhouse.

Must have M.D. D.O. or foreign degree equivalent. Must be eligible for Minnesota medical license and Board Certification/Board Eligible in Internal Medicine and Pediatrics or in final year of ACGME accredited program leading to certification.
