Job Description

JOB SUMMARY:

Supports the Legal and Risk Management Departments by supporting litigation functions and assisting in discovery requests.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Obtain information and documentation in response to discovery requests and provide to outside counsel for Universal litigated and nonlitigated cases. These may include prior similar incidents manuals work orders attraction and operation daily reports videos and photos employee status names and contact information of involved employees.
  • Assist with scheduling meetings and depositions of team members with defense counsel Coordinate and assist with site inspections.
  • Generate departmental reports and correspondence. Coordinate with other departments to obtain information needed for daily assignments special projects and meetings.
  • Provide support for nonpersonal injury litigation cases from Legal as needed.
  • Schedule and arrange semiannual reviews with defense counsels of current lawsuits; Responsible for maintaining the Evidence Room.
  • Responsible for maintaining and requesting storage records at Iron Mountain.
  • Understand and actively participate in Environmental Health & Safety responsibilities by following established UO policy procedures training and team member involvement activities.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION:

  • Associates degree (AA) and Paralegal Certificate is required.
  • Bachelors degree acceptable in lieu of a Paralegal Certificate.
  • Bachelors degree in Legal Studies or a related field is preferred.

EXPERIENCE:

  • 2 years corporate legal or law firm experience required; 3 years preferred; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:

Must be able to work in a highpaced environment handling multiple tasks at the same time; and must maintain confidentiality of projects legal and business information at all times.
