Job Description
What we are looking for
SCS Engineers is looking for an engineer in the St. Louis office to perform various activities related to environmental consulting. You will have the opportunity to embrace teamwork growth and develop professionally. You will be a quick learner motivated eager to learn embrace teamwork and succeed if you have the desire to develop professionally. Project responsibility will primarily focus on civil/environmental services landfills landfill infrastructure composting and other projects that may require design engineering permitting construction and operations support.
How you can make an impact
- Prepares and reviews engineering calculations drawings reports and permit applications.
- Manage projects and personnel to meet both client and SCS expectations.
- Makes decisions independently based on engineering or scientific problems and methods plans and coordinates work and represents SCS at meetings and conferences.
- Fieldwork in varied terrain and weather will be required including but not limited to surveys/data gathering construction quality assurance inspections etc.
- Officebased tasks including CAD drafting mathematical calculations report writing creating site plans and facility diagrams permit applications etc.
- Receive technical guidance on unusual or complex problems and supervisory approval on proposed plans or projects.
- 20 travel expected.
Qualifications
- Bachelors of Science degree in Environmental Engineering Civil Engineering or related engineering major from an accredited institution required.
- Minimum of 3 months of relevant environmental and/or engineering internship work and/or research experience required.
- Professional Engineering license or progress toward a professional engineering license (i.e. E.I.T certification) preferred.
- Valid Drivers License with a driving record in good standing.
