What to Expect

The Sr. Database Architect is responsible for leading the design implementation and managing enterprisewide database systems to ensure optimal performance scalability and security. This role will oversee cloudbased database management and retrieval including structured unstructured and big data to align database architecture with business objectives. In addition this role will oversee the administration of database platforms and drive and support innovation in data solutions.

What You Will Do

1. Design and oversee database architectures ensuring they meet organizational needs for performance and scalability.

2. Lead and manage both cloudbased database platforms (e.g. AWS RDS Redshift Postgress OCI) and onsite database (e.g. Oracle SQLServer Postgress) to support enterprise applications and data strategies.

3. Guide and direct database automation efforts including task orchestration and monitoring.

4. Establish database governance policies security measures and compliance standards.

What You Will Bring

Minimum 8 years progressive experience in data modelling database performance tuning strategic and tactical planning.

Bachelors degree in Computer Science or equivalent.

Oracle Certified Professional/ AWS Database Specialty or equivalent.

Database Management Expertise: Expertise managing both onsite databases and cloudbased platforms.

Familiarity with database technologies for structured unstructured and big data retrieval.

Database optimization and Governance: Strong knowledge of database security compliance and governance policies.

Ability to oversee and direct database performance tuning and automation efforts.

Innovation and Adaptability: Aptitude for learning and applying emerging database technologies including graph (e.g. neo4j/oracle 23ai) and vector databases; interest in exploring innovative trends such as serverless databases and data mesh architectures.

Leadership and Collaboration: Proven ability to mentor outsourced teams and guide crossfunctional collaboration.

Excellent communication skills to align database strategies with business objectives.

Work Environment

Employees in this class are subject to extended periods of sitting standing and walking vision to monitor and moderate noise levels. Work is performed in an office environment.

The posted salary range for this job takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; geographic location and other business and organizational needs. Successful candidates may be hired anywhere in the salary range based on these factors. It is uncommon to hire candidates at or near the top of the range.
