Position Summary:
The Diesel Mechanic will primarily work with their team to repair and maintain tractors and trailers used to transport limestone and other products at Savages facilities in Elko NV. This will be a night shift position.
The Diesel Mechanic will primarily work with their team to repair and maintain tractors and trailers used to transport limestone and other products at Savages facilities in Elko NV. This will be a night shift position.
This is what youll be doing:
- Perform scheduled preventative maintenance on equipment
- Responsible for maintaining troubleshooting and repairing equipment
- Ensure all work is performed in compliance with regulatory requirements and industry best practices. Learn and partner with the Maintenance Supervisor to maintain accuratemaintenance records
- Other general maintenance duties as required
- Collaborate with Team Members outside of the department to ensure the overall success of the operation
Requirements for a successful Diesel Mechanic:
- Two to Three years of SemiTruck Fleet Mechanic experience and experience with a variety of trucks a plus
- Confidencein repairing suspensions rear ends transmissions air brake systems minor engine work (injectors turbos etc. and more
- An expert in identifying and diagnosing needed repairs by computer based systems being able to visually recognize problems a big plus
- Class A CDL a plus but not required
- The ability to weld aluminum is a plus
- For the purpose of safety it is essential that the candidate possesses English communication skills. The job demands the ability to understand and interpret both written and verbal operational and safety guidelines as well as related regulations policies and memos
- Clear and effective communication with colleagues and superiors is a key requirement for this role
- Ensure compliance to strict OSHA and State regulations
Here are some of the physical requirements for this role:
- Must be physically able to handle heavy parts and pieces of equipment
- Safely Climb on and off the equipment
- Physically demanding work will be a daily function of this position
- Must be able to climb crawl and position their body in such a way that they can perform their required duties
- This person should be able to frequently lift 80 lbs
