Job Description
Maintenance / Landscape Assistant
Location: Hillside Boutique Hotel Castroville TX
Job Summary:
The Maintenance / Landscape Assistant supports the upkeep and presentation of the hotel grounds landscaping and basic maintenance tasks. This position ensures that the propertys exterior and interior spaces remain functional safe and visually appealing for guests and staff.
Job Description:
- Assist in the care and maintenance of lawns gardens trees and other landscape elements around the hotel grounds.
- Operate landscaping equipment such as mowers blowers trimmers and irrigation systems safely and effectively.
- Perform minor maintenance repairs including painting changing lightbulbs fixing fixtures and assisting with basic plumbing and electrical work.
- Conduct routine inspections of the property to identify and address maintenance needs.
- Ensure outdoor spaces (walkways patios entrances) are clean tidy and free of debris.
- Assist with seasonal tasks such as mulching planting trimming and snow/ice removal (as needed).
- Respond promptly to guest or management maintenance requests.
- Adhere to safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Collaborate with the maintenance and housekeeping teams to support smooth operations.
Education/Formal Training:
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
Experience:
- Previous experience in landscaping or maintenance roles preferred.
Knowledge/Skills:
- Basic knowledge of landscaping and groundskeeping tools and techniques.
- Ability to perform physical labor in outdoor conditions.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness and safety.
- Reliable punctual and able to work independently or as part of a team.
- Good communication and problemsolving skills.
- Ability to follow instructions and complete tasks efficiently.
- Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds and perform physical tasks such as bending stooping and standing for extended periods.
