Job Description

Senior Director Quality Management & Regulatory Affairs Full Time Days

Our client: A fullservice hospital capable of handling virtually all the healthcare needs in the community. Providing services in many specialty areas including womens and childrens health; general cardiothoracic vascular orthopedic and neurological surgery; advanced endoscopy wound care bariatric cardiovascular comprehensive stroke cancer immune health behavioral health psychiatry and neurosciences pulmonary critical care and urology.

The Position: The Senior Director of Quality Management is accountable for developing leading and executing large scale quality support projects around daytoday organizational performance throughout the Health System as well as facilitating leadership to achieve necessary regulatory and performance excellence audit processes.

Requirements:

  • Bachelors or masters degree in nursing
  • CPHQ Certification
  • 8 years of clinical experience. Previous or current experience working in Quality/Utilization Management field.
  • 5 years of Management experience with proven ability to lead create and sustain teams.
  • Strong knowledge of pathophysiology treatment of disease and patient management
  • Formal training and demonstrated experience in conducting root cause analysis for adverse events.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Quality and Performance Improvement methodology including DNVDOH Administration Medical Staff Nursing staff and Ancillary Support Services.

Responsibilities:

  • Help create and carry out the plan for how we manage and improve quality across the organization making sure its in line with the bigger picture. Work on both the big picture strategy and daytoday actions to make it happen.
  • Work closely with both administrative and clinical teams to plan measure and improve how we deliver quality care. Make sure were ready for inspections and follow important guidelines.
  • Look for ways to make care better and fairer for all patients and families and partner with different teams in the hospital to make sure patients are getting what they need.
  • Support programs that improve patient health comfort and overall experience. Focus on efforts that put patients first and make sure patient feedback is heard and acted on.
  • Make sure the entire organization is always ready for inspections and follows all regulations. Stay updated and knowledgeable about state and national rules and accreditation standards.
  • Coordinate teams across departments to prepare for inspections and give feedback to regulatory agencies like the Department of Health (DOH) and others.
  • Lead the response to inspections by regulatory and accrediting organizations making sure everything is consistent across the system.
  • Share important updates about new or changing regulations and help guide the organizations response to them.
  • Work with different departments to make sure everyones following the rules and standards.
  • Maintain strong working relationships with key groups like the DOH hospital leadership doctors nurses and other teams by being involved in meetings and committees.
  • Take turns being oncall as the senior leader responsible for decisions when needed throughout the year.
  • Manage staffrelated decisions such as hiring performance issues and staffing changes. Work with Human Resources to handle employee concerns fairly and promptly.
  • Foster a positive work culture where staff are supported work well together grow professionally and provide excellent service.
  • Ensure the team is well trained and stays up to date so they can provide highquality care. Provide learning opportunities when there are changes in medicine technology or healthcare.
  • Stay informed about best practices in the field by joining professional groups and attending learning events. Represent the organization locally and nationally.
  • Support the organizations goals around diversity equity and inclusion and use diversity as a strength in achieving success.
  • Take on other related duties as needed.
